Form a Chevalier Court
If there is no Chevalier Court in your locality, you may submit a request to the Georgia
Chevalier Association to form a new Court of Chevaliers. Please see the
Chevalier Program Overview if you are interested in joining
or forming a Chevalier Court in Georgia.
Requirements to Form a Court of Chevaliers in Georgia:
- A minimum of five (5) eligible Chevaliers who wish to join the new Court is required. (Chevaliers must meet the requirements to join a Chevalier Court in Georgia.)
- Approval of the Georgia Chevalier Coordinator and the Georgia Executive Officer is required.
- There must not be an existing Chevalier Court in the proposed area of operation.
Procedure to Form a Court of Chevaliers in Georgia:
Naming the new Court of Chevaliers:
- Georgia's Chevalier Courts must be named after a prominent figure from Georgia DeMolay History.
- A Chevalier Court cannot be named for a living person.
Required Activities of a New Chevalier Court (must be completed within the first year):
- Petitions must be submitted bringing the number of active members of the Court to ten (10)
- An official annual observance must be held within the Court's area of operation with a minimum of five (5) Chevaliers in attendance.
- A minimum of one (1) Chevalier from the Court must assist in Georgia's Official Annual Investiture
- A minimum of two (2) Chevaliers from the Court must successfully complete Ritualist Examination Board (REB) training
