NEWSette
November 2001
From the State Parents' Club Coordinator:
Hello Everyone,
The most pressing new I have to share with you is concerning the Holiday Formal. It will be held on December 1 at the Scottish Rite Center in Macon. The dance will be from 7 until 11. We will be able to get into the building to decorate at 5:30, so I need as many of you to come early and help your State Parents' Club make the place beautiful for the dance. In the last Newsette I asked if there is a group that would like to be in charge of furnishing all of the drinks for the evening. The first group to accept that challenge is Mountain Park. So, they will bring all drinks. The other groups should be talking and deciding what foods your group will bring and which of you will bring those foods. Please don't wait until it is time for the Holiday Formal to start thinking about this event. It is a fun time for Georgia DeMolay and deserves our planning and thought. I have not heard from any group about your thoughts on doing stockings for the State Officers and State Sweetheart. I really need to know by the middle of November if there will be enough participation so that each group only has to spend a small amount to go toward the total effort. If you do not know what each group is to bring, here is a reminder. Someone from each group should bring finger foods, chips and dips, cake or cookies, candy or fruit and dip. We need to have a good variety to offer those in attendance. If you cannot come early to help decorate, please plan to stay after to help clean up.
As I write this article, I am waiting in anticipation for October 27 when our oldest, Joey, marries Sarah Stovall. Please keep both these families in your thoughts and prayers as these two are joined for a wonderful life together. There will be many family and friends traveling to Snellville to share in the happy occasion. May they arrive safely and return safely after the big event.
I have still not received a bill from the DeMolay and More Store for the consignment at Conclave. An update will be forthcoming.
The fundraising committee for the State Parents' Club tee-shirt sale for Spring Jam should plan to have a meeting at the Holiday Formal to see where we are in the planning stage.
There are many people who need help and especially during the holiday season. Please share any ideas your group may have for ways to help others at this time when the reason for the season is to give. You may spark some interest and lead help to those who may have gone forgotten. You can e-mail me your ideas at lbush@gpc.peachnet.edu. I look forward to hearing the different ways we offer our help.
Thank you for those of you who have kept my mother in your thoughts and prayers. This is the hardest thing I have had to face, knowing she will not get well. But God knows what is best and his love surrounds my mother everyday. For that I am grateful.
If there is anything I can do for any of you, please feel free to call me at home or at work. You can also send me e-mail. (My address is listed above.)
In DeMolay Love,
Mom Lorna Bush
From the Editor:
Hello All!
I still don't have many chapters sending anything for the Newsette. I know there are more than two Chapters and Mom Bush that are doing things we could let the state know about. So send me things. Remember to keep Mom Bush's mother in your prayers. I hope to see everyone soon.

Mountain Park Chapter:
Hello to everyone,
Our guys just got back from a camping trip in North Carolina this weekend. Everyone seemed to have a great time. We are in wedding mode as we celebrate Joey Bush and Sarah Stovall getting married on October 27. We are working on shoe boxes filled with Christmas items to be donated to needy children in other countries. This is our Sweetheart Cason's project. We hope to have our boxes shipped out around November 1. We're looking forward to seeing everyone at the Holiday Formal.
