First Round of Official Visits Completed
GA - Wow, this past month certainly has been a busy one. I have visited every chapter in
Georgia DeMolay. Even though this is considered part of my official duties, I would not trade
the experience of these visits for anything. Everywhere I have visited, there was not a single
time where I did not feel welcome and at home. Whether it was hanging out with the guys from
Clayton when I visited their chapter or at their Whitewater Day, they are a great group of
guys, and always a pleasure to visit. I always enjoy my excursions to the deep south to visit
Don R. Roberts and Cecil Cheves Chapter. By the way, watch out for Cecil Cheves, they are
currently leading the state for membership for the year! This chapter should be back to its
former glory soon. Don R. guys, well what can you say, they are Don. R. guys. Middle Georgia
Chapter has many great plans for the next year, and I am expecting extraordinary results
from them! The enthusiasm at Mountain Park Chapter is as high as ever, and their new corps
of leaders has that chapter on track to continue their greatness. Peachtree City is on the
road to getting their letters temporary soon. We look forward to their transition to club
status to a traditional chapter. It seems one chapter out, that would be my home chapter,
and even though we have the little homie brigade, they are still a pleasure to work with
and the young leaders in the chapter are developing rapidly. The Official Visits are only
part of my travels, there has also been the Rock Quarry, the previously mentioned Clayton
Whitewater Day, and SOAR Weekend. Lastly, I want to thank all of you, but especially the
SSL parents club, for making the SMC Reception such a memorable event. I had a blast, and
I hope everyone else did. In addition to this, we have many new programs in the state in
the works, I hope to be able to announce these programs soon, be on the lookout for
announcements on the website and in your e-mail. I look forward to seeing what the
remainder of this year holds, and I have no doubts that it will be an exciting and
successful one for Georgia DeMolay.
