S.O.A.R. - State Officers Accept Responsibility
STONE MOUNTAIN, GA - The 2007-2008 State Officers converged on Stone Mountain
the weekend of August 10-12. The annual planning and team building weekend was held at
Mountain Park Lodge and led by newly-installed State Master Councilor Richie Eells. Focusing
primiarily on membership and communication, Eells and his corps of officers discussed
pressing issues to the State Association and also planned out events for the year. Details were
ironed out for two new state events, one of which is a New Year's Eve, Co-ed lock-in, featuring
statewide degrees and a midnight party. Eells also brought in two guest speakers. Past State
Master Councilor and 38th International Master Councilor Chris Eells discussed how to
think quickly in high-stress situations. Georgia DeMolay Online WebMaster Jon Challen discussed
upcoming plans and goals for Georgia DeMolay's primary communication tool, its web site. It wasn't
all work for the State Officers: Saturday evening they headed to nearby Stone Mountain Park for
some team-building exercises and a little fun. Eells had high hopes as the weekend concluded.
"This year the State Officers did a great job at SOAR, and I think the state
will be excited about how this year plays out!" he said.

The 2007-2008 State Officers enjoy the serene setting of Stone Mountain Park.

SMC Eells leads a discussion on effective communication.
