DeMolay Degree Performed at Rock Quarry
MORGANTON, GA - The Associated DeMolay Chapters of Georgia sent
their best ritualists to Wilscot Mountain to perform for several
hundred Masons assembled for the 55th Annual Rock Quarry Outdoor
Degree Meeting. This was the 5th year the DeMolays had been invited to
attend the popular event, and the young men had something special in
store for them. At the urging of the Grand Master, fourteen of the
Masons assembled there stepped forward to receive the DeMolay Degrees
themselves and become members of the rapidly growing George Washington
DeMolay Alumni Chapter. This Chapter is made up of Masons and others
that did not have the opportunity to join DeMolay when they were
between the ages of 12 and 21 but want to enjoy the DeMolay experience
in a very real way by becoming an honorary member of the Order.
DeMolay Alumni form a great support group for the rapidly growing
youth group and help secure the future prosperity of DeMolay in
Georgia.
Grand Master Eli Stafford said that he was very proud to have been the first
member Initiated into the George Washington DeMolay Alumni Chapter and
was very impressed with the obligation the young men took to become a
member. "We could all be better men and live better lives if we took
their obligations to heart," he told the audience.
