Rufus R. White Pilot Chapter in Rocky Face Opened, Four Initiated
ROCKY FACE, GA - On February 27, Georgia DeMolay officially rolled out its
Pilot Chapter program, initiating four young men into the Rufus R. White Pilot Chapter.
The pilot chapter is located in Rocky Face and sponsored by Gordon Springs Masonic Lodge.
Several advisors were also welcomed to the Rufus R. White Pilot Chapter, trained by Dad Skip Mason.
Initiation ceremonies were performed by Peter Bard, Geoff Bard, Richie Eells, Hunter
Sullivan, Chris Somers, and Todd Stovall. Dad Jim Bard also attended the event.
The Pilot Chapter program aims to make it easier and less restrictive to start new chapters
in areas where the DeMolay requirements had not been successful or could not be successful.
Concepts that are used include lowering the number of members required to start the pilot chapter,
sponsorship by various civic, social, or fraternal groups, reduced language for the initiation
ceremony and opening of business meetings, and a simplified officer and committee structure.
For pilot chapters, the ultimate goal is to become a full Chapter, and a pathway to that end
is provided in the program.
