ANAHEIM, CA - On Friday, June 20, at the annual International Congress of the Order of DeMolay, Richard W. Eells II was elected by unanimous vote to the office of 42nd International Master Councilor. He succeeds Austin Whitaker of Tennessee. Eells is a member of Mountain Park Chapter in Stone Mountain and is currently serving as the State Master Councilor of the Associated DeMolay Chapters of Georgia. All fifty states in the United States and several foreign countries, including Canada, Brazil, Aruba, Italy, and the Phillipines, participated in the election. JD Olsen of Montana was elected to the office of International Congress Secretary. C. Michael Watson was elected the 88th Grand Master of the International Supreme Council.

After the election, Richard couldn't keep the smile off his face. "What an incredible honor. I can't wait to serve the Congress this ensuing year, to better our Order, and to make it flourish in jurisdictions across the world." Todd Stovall, Georgia's Junior Delegate to the Congress and fellow member of Mountain Park Chapter, was very excited. "Richard's election [to International Master Councilor] is a phenominal step forward for DeMolay International. I could not be more proud of my longtime best friend," he said.

Mountain Park Chapter in Stone Mountain has a history of producing outstanding DeMolay leaders. Few chapters can boast an international officer in their history, but Eells' election tallies the third international officer in Mountain Park Chapter's august history. Just four years prior, his brother Christopher, also of Mountain Park Chapter, was elected to the same position for the 38th Congress. Mountain Park's pioneer into the International realm was Adam Roof, who served as International Congress Secretary of the 34th Congress.
