Honors Investiture
Each year the Order of DeMolay pauses to recognize those young
men and adults that have distinguished themselves with their service to DeMolay.
Georgia is fortunate to have many dedicated individuals that put their heart and
soul into this fraternity and what it stands for.

DeMolay helps prepare young men for adulthood and it is a great
success for the Order when its members reach the age of 21 and take their full
station as well-prepared adults in society. Yet the Majority Service is colored with
a tinge of sadness as these men leave the ranks of active DeMolay and become
Senior DeMolays.

An Advisor who wears the Cross of Honor has received the highest
honor that can be given by the International Supreme Council to a member of an
Advisory Council or to a personal representative of an Executive Officer. It
denotes conspicuous and meritorious service to the Chapter or jurisdiction and
exceptional and outstanding efforts on behalf of DeMolay.
Buford M. Brand, Walt Disney Chapter, is awarded this well
deserved honor by the Investiture team consisting of Derrick Honea, SMC; Justin
Nobles, SSC; Michael Riley, SJC; Adam Fowler, SMar; and Marc Bohn, EO.

Luther O. Cox, Panthersville Chapter, is honored for 50 years of
service to DeMolay.

Frank L. Stevens, Don R. Roberts Chapter, also was honored for
service to DeMolay for 50 years.

Chevalier is a French word that denotes a member of certain
orders of knighthood or merit, or, a chivalrous or gallant man. The Degree of
Chevalier is the highest honor that an active DeMolay can receive. The Degree is
a citation for outstanding and marked activity and labor on behalf of DeMolay.
The Honor Guard of St. Omer Commandery, Knights Templar of
Macon, made a Cross of Steel for
Bros. Justin Nobles and Jeremy Bush, who are awarded the Degree of Chevalier.

The Chevalier Investiture Team consisted of Gary Vinson, Grand
Commander; Jeremy Fowler, Commander in the West; Adam Roof, Commander in the
South; Scott Povlot, Marshal and Bryan Newport, Chaplain.

Chevalier recipient and incoming State Master Councilor Justin Nobles
gets a congratulatory hug from his father, Russ.

The Legion of Honor is the highest degree and honor conferred by
the International Supreme Council of the Order of DeMolay and is conferred upon
a Senior DeMolay or Master Mason for outstanding leadership and/or
accomplishment in some field of endeavor or for success in fraternal life,
including service to DeMolay.
Dad Thomas F. Chadwick and Dad Marc B. Bohn, are made legionnaires
in the Legion of Honor.

Dad John H. Pigot, Cecil Cheves Chapter, taps a sword on the shoulders of
the two honorees prior to investing the Legion of Honor medallion.

The Investiture Team was composed of outstanding men who had distinguished
themselves in Freemasonry and DeMolay. John Pigott, Commander in the East; John
Spratlin, Commander in the West; Luther Cox, Commander in the South; David
Canaday, Herald; Frank Stevens, Marshal; Past Grand Master Carl Dohn, Chaplain; Andre Lovas,
1st Preceptor; Dana Schwarz, 2nd Preceptor; David Weir, 3rd Preceptor; Past
Grand Master James
Miller, 4th Preceptor; Ted Hendon, 5th Preceptor; Past Grand Master Joseph Suttles, 6th
Preceptor and Past Grand Master Clyde Griffin, 7th Preceptor, made up the team.
That this accomplished group of men, including four Past Grand
Masters of the Grand Lodge of Georgia, F&AM, would take time out of their
schedule to confer this honor underscores the confidence and support Masons have for those who work so diligently and
unselfishly with the young men of DeMolay.
