Since Conclave is our best attended event, it affords a good
opportunity to brag on our champions.

State Senior Councilor Geoff Bard has done a good job this past
year encouraging members to take the Leadership Correspondence Course (LCC)
and learn all about DeMolay's history, traditions and methods. He presents
trophies to those Chapters completing the most LCC's during the past year. There
was a tie and John Harris, the Master Councilor of Samuel S. Lawrence Chapter, accepts the award on
behalf of his Chapter and Jacob Regus, Master Councilor of Mountain Park
Chapter, accepts the award on behalf of his guys.

State Senior Councilor Michael Griggers reports on membership. He
reported a slight net loss in membership this past year, but the encouraging
news is that Masonic support has increased tremendously as the Strategic Plan
takes root. Twenty new advisors have been trained, more than in the last three
years combined! Additionally, a new Chapter at Peachtree City is in the works, a
new advisory council has been trained for now dormant Frank Hardeman Chapter,
Panthersville Chapter has been reactivated, and new interest is being shown at
Albany Chapter. All in all, growth was expected to accelerated in the upcoming
year.
The top three Chapters are Mountain Park and Samuel S. Lawrence
Chapter, tied for 1st place and third place Clayton Chapter. Watch for Don R.
Roberts to give these guys a run for their money in 2006!

Now it is on to some of the most important business of Conclave
.... electing new officers for the ensuing year. Traditionally the only
contested race is for State Junior Councilor so Michael S. Griggers of Clayton
Chapter was elected unopposed to the position of State Master Councilor and
Geoffrey S. Bard of Samuel S. Lawrence Chapter was elected unopposed to the
position of State Senior Councilor.
Don R. Roberts Master Councilor Kyle Corwin placed into
nomination the name of Stephen R. Bohn of Panthersville Chapter.

Stephen outlines his plans and hopes for improving DeMolay
should he be elected as the next State Junior Councilor. Stephen is the son of
the Executive Officer, Marc Bohn and has been deeply involved with the
fraternity for many years.

Richard W. Eells, II of Mountain Park Chapter, was nominated by
his famous brother Chris, a Past State Master Councilor and Past International
Master Councilor. Richie, too, has been a regular in Georgia DeMolay for many
years and works tirelessly on behalf of the Order. Both of these young men are a
credit to DeMolay and presented the Chapters with a hard decision to pick one
for the post. It speaks well for our fraternity's future when young men of such
awesome talent compete for Georgia DeMolay's highest posts.

Mountain Park's Chris Hoff and Stephen listen intently to the
Q&A session with the candidates for office while Thomas tried to distract
them with his antics. The Q&A session really gives the candidates a chance to
show the group how they can think on their feet in the toughest of
circumstances.

The elected state officers of Georgia DeMolay are the cream of
the crop. They represent the Order at the highest level and must present
themselves well. The DeMolay members ask some really tough questions of the group and
some tricky questions designed to test their ability to react quickly to
whatever comes their way.

One look at those stern faces and you can tell these guys take
choosing their leaders seriously. If the candidates can get by this bunch, they
are top notch!

Clayton Chapter Sweetheart Christina F. Cheatham applies all her
charm and wit to win the confidence of the DeMolays to elect her to serve as the
State Sweetheart for the ensuing year.

Dad Justin Nobles, a Past State Master Councilor now serving as an
Advisor for Samuel S. Lawrence Chapter, is the Master of Ceremonies for the
Majority Service. This services marks the passage of a DeMolay from active
membership to Senior DeMolay status and is for members who have reached the age
of 21.

The Majority Service is only given by the State Officers. They
cherish this opportunity to express their love and affection for members who are
leaving the active fraternity and to tell them how much they have enjoyed the comradeship
of DeMolay through the years.
