Sweetheart Luau 2004 PhotosPhoto Album Credits Return to Event Index Page | Next Page State Sweetheart Ginnie Poorbaugh called the chapter sweethearts together and planned a "luau" fun event to raise funds for the Jenny Lind Pettys Scholarship Fund. Word quickly spread of the event which turned out to be one of the most well attended events all year.
State Master Councilor Chris Eells gets the luau started by asking Grand Worthy Advisor Laura Klenke to dance.
As a means of raising money, the sweethearts asked DeMolay dignitaries to charge for a dance. Past State Master Councilor Justin Nobles tried desperately to get someone to sign his card. He finally loaned his little sister some money and conned her into signing his dance card.
State Senior Steward Todd Stovall signals that he already has two names on his dance card.
We don't know how she does it, but Samuel S. Lawrence Sweetheart Beth Mrazek attends all these events and still finds time for college.

Only a few ladies make it to the rank of State Sweetheart, but the Poorbaugh family has two sisters that have both held that title. Kathryn was the State Sweetheart in 1999/2000.
