On the weekend of September 12-14, four DeMolays and four advisors from Georgia
attended the Region III Conference in Pensacola, Florida. The annual conference is a business
meeting for the seven-state Southeastern DeMolay region, including North Carolina, South Carolina,
Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, and Florida.

DeMolays from all across the Southeast came together during the weekend to
share ideas and have a little fun as well.

Georgia State Master Councilor Chris Eells gives some tips to other jurisdictions
on how to stimulate membership growth. Georgia DeMolay was recognized as the jurisdiction with
the greatest membership growth in the region for the past year.

One item of business is for the jurisdictional representatives to elect the new
Region III Coordinator. This year's new coordinator is Steven Gourley, the State Master Councilor
of North Carolina.

International Master Councilor Peter Brusoe takes the time to explain some of the new DeMolay
International Programs on the calendar for the year to the group of representatives.

Despite Peter's best efforts to explain the new programs, it looks like Region III
Coordinator Justin Nobles has had enough of Peter's lip. He tries to cool him off a bit with some
water.

"Hey Jackie! My horse is faster than yours!" State Master Councilor
Chris Eells chides State Senior Councilor Julius Moody (center) while State Junior Councilor Michael
Griggers (right) tries his best to hang on for dear life!

Having won at the horse races, SMC Chris Eells trades in his loyal steed for a
shiny new motorbike. "Are you the fastest in this game, too, Chris?"

Even the adults can have a little fun at Region III! "Linda, if you'll
just aim a little higher, you'll hit the target." Region III Representative Bill Carver helps his
wife win a prize.

The tables have turned! "Now Bill, if you'd just be a bit quicker, you'll be able to
club the alligator!"

Georgia Executive Officer Marc Bohn knew he had a real future in basketball. But
he decided to give up his NBA dreams to be a DeMolay Advisor. When asked if he had any
regrets about his decision, he replied, "I wouldn't give up DeMolay for the world! Besides,
I'm still the best on the court at Spring Jam!"
