SMC Reception 2002 PhotosThe SMC's Reception is an opportunity for the new DeMolay leader to introduce his fun symbol to everyone. The SMC loves automobiles, especially classic ones, and has adopted the automobile as his fun symbol.
Some of the high stepping on the dance floor was guys trying to get out of the way of Mike's remote control car!
"It's Electric!" For the next 15 minutes, you will be singing that tune in your head.
Ben Pierce (Clayton Chapter) has only been in DeMolay for less than a year but he is really enjoying it!
"He's just a chip off the old block!" says proud father, Lane Pierce. "He's using the same charms that helped me win over this beautiful lady," Dad Pierce says about his lovely wife Colleen. Dad Pierce is the newest member of the Clayton Chapter Advisory Council.
Russell Cartledge (Clayton Chapter) is so macho! It takes nerves of steel to act nonchalant while a beautiful girl has her arms around you!
Past SMC Justin Nobles (Samuel S. Lawrence Chapter) shows Autumn Cole (Friendship Assembly) and Brittney Boynton (Samuel S. Lawrence Sweetheart) his special routine to "Bye, Bye, Bye". They really get the hang of it.
And here you see the classic "group dance" where everyone perfects their moves. Young understudy Geoff Bard (Samuel S. Lawrence Chapter) carefully studies the cool steps of two Past SMC's and now Senior DeMolays, Adam Roof (Mountain Park Chapter) and Gary Vinson, Jr. (Cecil Cheves Chapter).
"Hey Brother Hoff, what do you think of these matching vests the SMC prescribed for all his officers? Pretty cool, huh?"
"Grrrr, Dad Griggers, do you really want to take my picture?" Trey D'Anna (Cecil Cheves Chapter) throws a mean look at the photographer that is in stark contrast to the sweet smile on Ashleigh's face.
As the hour waned on, and the girls started leaving, this DeMolay resorted to a nice dance with this lovely balloon. His friends warned him to look out because she was a real "airhead"!
