SMC/GWA Reception 2005 PhotosPhoto Album Credits Back to Event Index Page | Next Page New ground was plowed in 2005 as State Master Councilor Michael Griggers took the initiative to invite the Grand Worthy Advisor Khrystle Rader to join him in a joint SMC/GWA reception held at Yaarab Shrine Center in Atlanta, Georgia. Not in anyone's recollection had these two organizations held such a joint reception. Clayton Chapter and Jonesboro Assembly joined forces with an unprecedented show of cooperation to accommodate the request of the heads of DeMolay and Rainbow to have this combined event.
Michael and Khrystle get along famously and had started talking about a joint event months ago. They approached their adult leaders and pitched the idea to them. Determined to make it work, they convinced everyone it was a good idea and they pulled it off without a glitch. Dad Griggers, a member of the Masonic Youth Council of the Grand Lodge of Georgia, said "It's great to see the young men and young ladies working together in this manner. We hope to see them planning more joint events in the future."
With both Clayton Chapter and Jonesboro Assembly bringing food, it was quite a feast! The flowers that Khrystle's Grandmother arranged were gorgeous.
Did you guys recognize the effort that went into the decorations? Untold hours of searching for just the right items, ordering them, designing them. We thought the film canister, film strip and popcorn box were awesome and showed just the right emphasis on Michael's Hollywood theme and slogan "Now Auditioning for Tomorrow's Stars".
Khrystle's theme is "The Gift of Friendship". Her "Khrystle" candleholders and flower pots help create a "friendly" atmosphere.
Even a receiving line! Having the ladies involved definitely added a touch of class.
"Now you be on your best behavior and don't embarrass me young man!"
"Scene one, take one, roll 'em!" Alex gets the action going.
"Kyle, please release your muscle, my face is caught!" Poor Geoff is stuck!
